You are moved by recent events and pride yourself on having a good moral foundation that includes compassion for others and understanding.
Your world is diverse.
This is the traditional way people have demonstrated commitment and activism. There's even a part of you that realizes the country, indeed the world, is undergoing monumental change and you want to play an active role in this history playing out before your eyes.
You lack resources because of COVID-19 and related issues. You are also confused about online messages that ask you to "hold space" for BIPOC individuals and not direct your queries to them, but that also critique you for being uninformed when you do work on your own or in non-BIPOC settings. How do you check implicit bias and work through social norms that may be intrinsically racist? And what are the "right words" to say anyway? How do you do anti-racist work and keep from being offensive?
You need guidance that is informed, reliable and supportive as you expand your awareness and reclaim your confidence and assurance regarding your anti-racist mindset and principles. You are ready to take the next steps from reading about racism to being a change agent in an environment that allows you to make mistakes as you process a challenging topic and find your personal narrative.
GUIDE YOU THROUGH A TRANSFORMATIONAL PROCESS IN WHICH YOU GO FROM TALKING OR THINKING ABOUT ANTI-RACISM TO BEING ANTI-RACIST
THIS PROGRAM PRESENTS A FRAMEWORK TO SIMPLIFY YOUR APPROACH TO ANTI-RACISM ACTIVISM
IT IS NOT A LIST OF BUZZWORDS OR DOS AND DON'TS.
No memorization is needed. Learn viscerally so that anti-racism is who you are and not how you want to appear. Trying to remember what to say and navigate a minefield of possible mistakes is nervewracking. Your nervous energy will likely betray you and fuel disengagement and lack of trust.
Anti-racist is who you are and not just how you wish to appear.
For less than the price of a single coaching session, you will get a history lesson regarding racism that is seldom taught in schools and learn a simple framework that will build your confidence and prepare you to direct your focus on impactful action.
Address blind-spots, ask questions and see the possibilities! By the end of the workshop, you will gain clarity regarding your opportunities to participate in social activism within your own environment.
We understand that not everyone is in a position to protest or engage in high profile activism. Make an impact in your own environment in small and meaningful ways that sustain change over time. Join an exclusive online community to support your activism after the workshop.
One of the key objectives of this workshop is to provide a "user-friendly" framework to understand racism and navigate different contexts. Participants will also discover important contextual history that will help you understand prevailing attitudes and mindset regarding racism.
Your workshop begins with a self-exploration process to help direct you towards meaningful and relevant activist opportunities that fit within your preference and ability.
Your workshop includes education, skills training, Q & A and mindset development by an experienced anti-racist strategist who will walk you through a framework you can remember using a single word.
Each participant is prompted to share their challenges regarding anti-racist work and then apply the framework by the end of the course to facilitate a workable action plan.
